Radio Features
Lauren has produced over 20 independent features for the BBC. Some highlights include talking to holocaust survivor Eva Schloss about becoming a hologram, speaking to Manfred Mohr about being one of the first people to use a computer to make art and looking at how virtual reality has been used to explore grief.
Immersive Audio
Combining movement with the listening experience, Lauren works with new technologies. She Created and Co-Directed PILGRIM in partnership with BOSE AR which premiered at IDFA in 2018. It is soon to be released as an augmented audio app. She was the Audio Producer for THESE SLEEPLESS NIGHTS a Magic Leap documentary which premiered in 2019 at Venice Film Festival. She was previously the Creative Director of ARTechs a boutique London Augmented Reality company and has founded the company Sunday Blue dedicated to immersive audio storytelling.
Podcasts
Lauren hosted the first season of Stroke of Genius Podcast (eight episodes), a podcast about the history of inventions such as this one about the history of the super soaker. She worked with the Institute of Art and Ideas (UK) to launch their podcast Philosophy for Our Times, taking it into #2 on the iTunes chart for Philosophy. She has also worked on many different BBC podcasts including Inside Science and All in the Mind. For a full list of podcast work see here.
Academic
Lauren has been awarded various grants and fellowships including a Wellcome Trust Imperial Media Fellowship, and a four year Leverhulme Trust grant. She has written peer reviewed publications along with staff at the University of Oxford and Johns Hopkins.She has a PhD in Oral History from the University of London and an Masters in Public Health, she has been teaching at Masters level for the past six years.
